The MIG2412SPD is a impulse tester for testing SPD (Surge Protection Devices) in accordance with IEC 61643-1 and VDE 0675. Up to maximum 24kV/12kA making it suitable for testing Class I to III or in accordance with VDE Class A,C, D. The MIG2412SPD is a hybrid generator with a voltage wave shape 1,2/50 ìs at "no load" and a current wave form 8/20 ìs at short circuit for testing Class III (D) SPD connected to power line. The Coupling Decoupling Network (CDN) is manually switchable for EUTs up to 16 A and max. 440 V . Additionally the generator is equipped with voltage 1.2/50 µs impulse up to 24kV and current 8/20 µs test impulse up to 12kAt. The voltage circuit 1.2/50 µs and Rs = 40 Ohm must be used for voltage test on Class I and II (A and C) SPD. and the current circuit 8/20 µs (with 10% tolerances) for current test on Class I and II (A and C) SPD.
